AME takes center stage at the conference ‘Ergonomics That Changes Relationships’ at the University of Florence.

AME is proud to have taken part in the conference ‘Ergonomics That Changes Relationships,’ organized by the Italian Society of Ergonomics and Human Factors (SIE) – Tuscany Section, under the patronage of the Department of Architecture (DiDA) of the University of Florence.

The event represented an important opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange among professionals, researchers, and companies on topics such as applied ergonomics, occupational safety, technological innovation, and organizational management.

The role of ergonomics in modern workplaces

Today, ergonomics is no longer limited to the design of workstations, but has become a strategic discipline for understanding and improving the interactions between people, technologies, processes, and organizations.

In an industrial context characterized by increasing operational complexity, the ergonomic approach helps identify critical issues, reduce risks, and promote safer, more efficient, and more sustainable working environments.

AME’s contribution to the conference focused precisely on these themes.

AME’s contribution to industrial ergonomics

During the event, AME’s Product Manager, Marco Bernacchioni, presented a talk titled: ‘Ergonomics and Anti-Collision Systems: Designing Environments That Protect.

The talk explored an increasingly central issue in the industrial sector: safety can no longer be considered a static system based solely on procedures, reporting, and regulatory compliance.

Modern companies operate in continuously evolving environments, where production layouts, logistics flows, technologies, and organizational models are constantly changing. In this context, safety management must be able to adapt dynamically to these changes and anticipate potential risks.

Through concrete application cases and field experience, AME illustrated how the AMESPHERE approach enables a shift away from a purely reactive logic in industrial safety management.

The goal is not merely to record events or incidents, but to transform every piece of collected data into a source of knowledge that can be used to prevent future risk situations.

Through the integration of intelligent anti-collision systems, data analytics, and Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) methodologies, organizations can gain a deeper understanding of operational dynamics and of the behaviors that influence day-to-day safety.

The sociotechnical approach to industrial safety

Effective safety stems from the ability to simultaneously analyze people, technologies, and processes.

For this reason, the AMESPHERE approach is based on a sociotechnical perspective that makes it possible to:

  • Identify recurring patterns and critical situations.
  • Analyze interactions between operators and industrial equipment.
  • Understand the impact of organizational processes on behaviors.
  • Reduce the risk of accidents through targeted interventions.
  • Improve operational efficiency and production continuity.

In this perspective, anti-collision systems are not merely alarm tools, but become strategic elements for generating awareness and supporting decision-making based on objective evidence.

For AME, contributing to this debate means continuing to promote a safety culture focused on prevention, data analysis, and continuous improvement.
